RUNNING OUT OF STORAGE SPACE

RUNNING OUT OF STORAGE SPACE

Have you ever done a disk clean up in the last two years ,if not you may have wasted gigabytes of data .The main reason for this is the existence of junk files .They are temporary files created by programs and applications during installation or while running .Do you know that Microsoft Word creates temporary files that help things run smoothly and automatically.Have you ever wondered why web pages load faster after refreshing the reason is when you refresh, most of the resources that did manage to load have been cached(another type of junk) so they don't need to be requested again.Actually the sources of junk are endless Even when you simply power on or shut down your computer, Windows creates temporary system files .junks are categorized as are categorized as

Document history list.

Run history.

Find files and folder list.

Windows Temp files.

Clipboard.

Recycle Bin.

Scandisk history.

Junk files can be real headache in the case of mobile phones.you will run out of storage even if u use a 64gb card. The main sources of junk in mobile phones are web browsing applications and messenger applications,The best example is the case of watsapp ,a copy of every file that has been sent and received is saved in a separate watsapp folder .

The second one is because of pop up advertisements ,the images and files used to load advertisements are stored as cache in phone memory.junk files are even created when you switch off or minimize applications in your phone ,these junks can be found in folder named as LOST.DIR

So what is the folder for? Its evident that there is no application named LOST.DIR installed on your device. At times the folder's size can range in gigabytes. The Lost.dir is a system folder. Its a place where the Android OS places files that were recovered during a system boot up like If you were saving files and suddenly the phone turned off, or maybe you pull the SD card out when files were being written to it - the Android system places copies of those files in LOST.DIR directory so it can try and recover them on the next boot (next time the system starts up).You can delete the LOST.DIR folder itself but it will reappear the next time the system boots up.

Junk files can cause all sorts of problems. The main problem is that they take up a lot of disk space Another reason why you should delete junk files is that they make your computer slow. The more outdated temporary files you have, the more time your system needs to find your documents, open programs and if there are too many junk files on your disk drive , your computer can take more time to boot up they can even cause sync failures in android applications.

Now lets try some simple steps to avoid junk files

The best ways to delete junk files is to use clean up softwares but don't forget to choose the correct software or else they can leave a junk of their ownClean your browser cache data atleast once a week ,To manually clear your browser history in Firefox, click the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Del]. This is a short cut to launch the Clear all History dialogue. Click on the arrow next to details in case they are not already extended. Select which history data you want to delete. Using the Time range to clear drop-down menu at the top you can selectively remove recent data. When you’re done click Clear Now.

Clearing data in chrome can be done by [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Del]

Clear all the unwanted thumbnails generated in your mobile phone by connecting it to your pc (dont forget to enable "view hidden files and folders").Junks can still exist even after you uninstall applications these junks can be deleted by navigating to "DATA"folder hidden inside your sd card/phone memory

So the next time when you come across a storage isuue dont forget to clear the junk files

Thank You ,Don't forget to post your valuable suggestions about the article
